Yes
If yes, then you have the option to apply for Seniors Benefit (a provincial supplemental health benefits plan) that offers coverage for a range of health services that are not covered under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP), including prescription medicine coverage. After doing so, you would be eligible for coverage of medicines that are listed on the Alberta Drug Benefit List.
The list is available publicly, and it is possible to search it by looking up the name of the medication to see if it is covered. If yes, the cost of the medication is covered once you pay a 30% (per prescription) co-payment to a maximum of $25.
