Are you a non-Indigenous resident who is older than 65 and who does not have access to drug coverage from another source?

You must be registered with the Extended Health Benefits for Seniors Program to have coverage through this plan. If you have already registered, then you are likely eligible for full public coverage of medication benefits provided under the program. The program makes decisions about medication coverage on the basis of the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Drug Benefit List developed by Indigenous Services Canada for its client population.

If a medication has been prescribed for you that is not on the benefit list, your prescriber may submit a request to Nunavut’s director of medical insurance on your behalf asking them to consider special coverage for you.
