If yes, you are eligible to apply for coverage under the High-Cost Drug Program. New applications must be submitted annually.
After approval, you should be eligible to receive full public coverage of all prescribed medicines that are listed on the PEI Pharmacare Formulary for your condition, once you pay an annual income-based deductible and the pharmacist’s professional fee for each prescription. The deductible is between 3-12% of annual household income, depending on your income level. The formulary is available online and is updated regularly.
All medicines covered under this program require special authorization. Please click here to learn more.
